Members Letter | March 2020
Dear Members,
Due to recent government announcements regarding COVID-19, we would like to inform you that all planned events have been suspended indefinitely. In moving forward, we encourage all members to visit our website www.rhodesclub.org.au for updates and follow us on Facebook via: http://www.facebook.com/rhodesclubmelbourne
The current health emergency has affected our ability to congregate, worship and connect. Whilst we are hopeful that these measures will be temporary, it is imperative that we stay connected and support each other to prevent the feeling of isolation. We are all in this together and the Brotherhood will do its part to help where possible.

The Brotherhood has had many offers of support for our senior members and we will be exploring these over the weeks ahead. One initiative from a current member was recently explored and adopted by the Committee, providing members who express interest, the supply of P2 masks. We have managed to secure 60 initial masks with a further 140 on back order and will make them available to all members free of charge upon request or until the supply runs out.
Whilst the supply of P2 masks are welcomed by the Brotherhood, it is important that distribution is only provided to members who are at risk due to pre-existing conditions and are over 65 years of age. In identifying members at risk to whom assistance will be afforded, we ask that requests are made via email to info@rhodesclub.org.au .
We ask all members who have email access, to use this medium as the preferred communication method, and for members who do not have email access, to contact Theo Zafiropoulos on 0404 873 290 or Monique Angelidis on 0402 313 257. Please use phone contact as a last resort; our volunteers, have their own work and responsibilities and we need to respect their time and only use this method of communication if we have no access to email, website or Facebook.
Furthermore, the Brotherhood and its committee ask that we respect and adhere to all government health advice regarding self-isolation, hygiene and social distancing.
The Brotherhood was founded on connecting and engaging with people from a unique cultural identity and as proud Rhodians, we will continue to follow this ambition. In these uncertain times, we ask you all to support each other and come together in unity as one big family.
Wishing your families and selves the very best of health during these difficult times.
Kind regards
Kosta Sevdalakis - President
Monique Angelidis - Secretary
